Hand rubbing the finish made for a nice warm luster. I used equal parts of boiled lindseed oil, tung oil, and polyurethane. Just brush it on, wipe it off, and let it dry - lightly used #0000 steel wool between coats & after the last coat, I rubbed it with a small piece of burlap. Rather time consuming, but I think the results were good.
